The Nsele commune property was purchased on December 10, 2016, for $92,000 with Paul, a lawyer, the previous owner present during the transaction. The remaining $8,000 will be used for renovations and supplies, as needed. Paul and the Emmanuel Training Center staff have been working to fix two compound walls and paint the outside of the building and the rooms. The compound will be open soon for training.
Project 127 has held two fundraisers (craft bazaar and
homeless neighbor blessing bags) so far and has been able to repay $11,000, only
by the grace of God. Letters have been
sent out to each member of the congregation giving background information on
the project; the letter also asks for prayers, publicity, and donations if
called. They have set up a GoFundMe page at https://www.gofundme.com/emmanuel-training-centers. They have planned a PaintNite February 24th (tickets
available at https://www.paintnite.com/events/_1159281),
a yard sale on March 11th, and a spring barbeque in May. The spring barbeque WILL NOT take the place of
our annual Chicken Barbecue. This barbeque will be set up differently; more
information to come. The current balance for repayment is $66,200. A visual to show our progress of raising the
funds will be located in the narthex.
