It's been a LONG time but a lot has been going on! Project 127 has been busy fundraising and the Emmanuel Training Center and Christian School have had a very busy school year!
At the beginning of the
school year, there were 415 students!
The current number of students is 322, this includes 50 children from
local orphanages that are able to take classes for free. The decrease in
students from the beginning of the year until now is mainly due to lack of
funds to pay.
They are working on
scholarships for children and are hoping the number of students will double
when school starts back in September 2018.
Here are a few pictures of the school…Paul
sends me videos and pictures usually around every two weeks or so.
And they just had their
very first Emmanuel Christian School Graduation on Friday and these are some
pictures from the graduation.
God
opened a training center and primary school for orphans and impoverished
children in Kinshasa, DR Congo through a small church in Roanoke, Virginia…half
way around the world…
There
is a sign on a building in the Congo that reads, “Ecole Christienne Emmanuel,
Gift from Summerdean Church Roanoke VA, Jesus Christ is Lord…He opened this
training center and school through His church for His glory….only God could do
that! We are grateful to God for this
journey and to you because You literally helped to change hundreds of lives
this past year so on behalf of project 127 and the students at the Emmanuel
Training Center and Christian School, THANK YOU! We hope God will continue to use us all as
his hands and feet in very real ways to show his love and glorify him near and
far.
So
whats next?
The
training center is currently holding classes through the summer and the
Christian school will resume in September.
Please be in prayer for the students and the teachers. And the Project 127 team is praying for God
to pay off this loan in his perfect timing and to reveal to us what he has
next.
